Our conclusions:
If a radioactive cloud reaches us – but is sailing away from our place again – what happens?

If a radioactive cloud was around, there is fine radioactive dust everywhere:

  • In the air
  • In the soil
  • In the water

You should never breathe in that dust. But how does that work? On your way home you wear the shelter for your mouth and your nose. As soon as you are at home you leave your garbage bag, your shelter and your shoes in front of the door!

Your parents have to fix the windows and doors with adhesive tape. They should always be prepared in every household!

Your house or your flat is quite safe after doing so, radioactive dust can’t come into the rooms any more. Everybody should keep some food at home, food which lasts long and which we can also eat without heating. Maybe something that can be warmed in the microwave would be good as well.

If you ask me, I always have juicy apples at home. You as well?

Write a shopping list for emergencies and discuss it with your parents.
