Why did I take the time to explain so much about atoms, rays and atomic power stations? | |
Now you know that radio active atoms and rays can be very dangerous for you. | |
Can you imagine now how difficult it is to make an atomic power station work?
And don’t forget – there are a whole lot of such atomic power stations all over Europe.
Lots of very well educated people specialised in atomic energy planning, build and make such a station function properly. But even if they are very, very cautious and don’t take any risks – mistakes can always happen. You know that from your own work, may it be language skills, maths or something else. But – if you make a mistake it’s only a question of more exercising of better concentration and no error happens. But an atomic accident caused by an error, a disturbance in the routine is really a most dangerous problem for environment and human beings. Why so? Imagine radioactive atoms are even smaller than the finest dust. And so it is easy fort hem to float around the air being seen as dust. You can compare this dust with the sort that you get if you cut wood with a chain saw. But the problem is that this radioactive dust is sending millions of dangerous rays through the air. Those we can’t see at all. Where this dust flies to, where it lands, nobody knows. Because there are different influences on this dust which are very important. |

First of all: 1. The Wind, which mostly comes from the west, but then again from the east, the north or even the south. Clouds are blown further by the wind – clouds that easily absorb the fine radioactive dust. 2. the Weather, causing hot or cool temperatures. 3. the Rain, which might fall exactly from a cloud filled with radioactive dust
