Sometimes it is necessary to evacuate places where these clouds
are supposed to come to. People have to be brought into special shelters.
But not only these clouds are dangerous.
The rain that follows lands somewhere nearby: Maybe on our
fine healthy soil, on our salad, our vegetables, the fruits which are growing there.
And where the grass grows that is food for cows, sheep and chicken.
Thus radioactivity spoils our food.
Rain seeps deeper down into the soil even reaching our drinking water.
And it transports radio activity for free on this journey.
Slowly our environment is being damaged by these rays.
The farther we are living away from an atomic reactor the smaller the
amount of radio activity is that reaches us unless the
strong wind blows it into our direction.
